Recclesia has been commissioned as Principal Contractor to undertake a scheme of masonry conservation and repair work to Heighley Castle in Staffordshire, a Scheduled Ancient Monument which is Grade II Listed.
The castle was completed by the Audley family in 1233 and for over 300 years was one of their ancestral homes. It was held for Charles I during the English Civil War and was destroyed by Parliamentary forces in the 1640s.
The work involves the very careful removal of decades of vegetation growth, consolidation and repair of the ruinous remains and soft capping.
