Recognition rolls in for Chester Zoo project

Recclesia was commissioned by Donald Insall Associates to undertake a full review of the glazing scheme and its condition at Oakfield House prior to proposals for a £3m scheme to transform the building. Having reported on the state of the stained glass, leaded lights and metal casements, we worked alongside zoological building specialists Read Construction to conserve and repair the windows as part of the transformational project.

We are therefore delighted to hear the news that the project has been recognised by the Chester Civic Society with the Chairmans Special Award with the project being described as,

"an excellent example of conservation and sensitive extension"

We were further delighted to then hear that it has subsquently been shortlisted for a RICS award! Well done to all those involved!
